day 1 | FRI 21 Mar 4-9pm

We graze on food stuffs and gather in circle to connect to the place, to one another and to the foundational Mul Mantra, which sets our course for the weekend and beyond. A sound meditation lulls us to slumberland. We arrive, let go, open up and create space to receive.

day 2 | SAT 22 mar 7:30am-9:30pm

It’s the day to meet ourselves and clear debris obstructing our path. We stir things up a little with kundalini yoga, guided nature wandering and deep breath work. We chant, ponder, journal and share a Turkish steam bath ritual, before the evening’s vocal toning and relaxing sound meditation.

day 3 | sun 23 mar 8am-4pm

Gentleness returns as we reset and inner wisdom emerges. We gain clarity about ourselves and our place in the world, as the four yogic directions of mantra, movement, sound and breath guide us back to centre, our soul identity. We connect with our Sat Nam (true nature).

post retreat | integration

We continue to hold space and nourish intentions as you step into life and reorient post-retreat. Together, we will reconvene in April at a Castlemaine Sunday Soothe event. You can also receive a discounted private reiki or sound healing session in the month after retreat.

YOGA SOUND healing MENTORS

Compass Retreat is a holistic and nourishing deep dive back into the essence of who you are. It’s a re-union with your soul.

Nat and Bec are trained and experienced facilitators who share a potent blend of practices so that you receive physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual benefits.

The extensive program is beautifully interconnected and interwoven. Movement opens the body. The breath carries the sound. Chanting enhances how we receive sound meditation. Nature connection deepens elemental listening to the world and self.

Our unique yoga sound retreat expands upon our monthly Sunday Soothe collaborations in Castlemaine and Kyneton. Compass Retreat is much more than a restful weekend away. We invite humans who seek wisdom to know and trust themselves.

Bec’s classes contain ancient practices that bring people home to their own inner sense of joy, love and presence.

The combination of movement, breath, mantra and meditation offer possibilities for deep healing and transformation.

Bec is a former dancer who has been teaching yoga for a decade in various studios and spaces across Australia. She now calls Kyneton home.

She is passionate about sharing the yoga practices that have shaped and transformed her life, including kundalini kriya yoga and advanced pranayama breath work.

Nat’s training as a sound healing practitioner and nature connection leader, along with her storytelling business, and animist ways of being have transformed how she sees life and her place in it.

Nat is a down-to-earth facilitator who utilises the potency of sound, story and nature to guide connection, so people can rediscover their unique expression, inner truth and wild authenticity.

Finding natural resonance in these ways transforms a person's way of showing up in and belonging to the world. That shapes our personal and collective wellbeing.

“Thank you both so much for an amazing weekend, the way you both held the space - provided scaffolding but did not overly fuss when big feels were present - comfortable discomfort comes to mind.”

“This was one amazing weekend. Thanks Bec and Nat for sharing your knowledge and holding space for those that attended. A weekend of discovery through breath, sound, movement and mantra.”

“I was able to show up as myself. As a result of the retreat I am recognising the need for ritual, reverence and connection in my life to be able to not just cope but live in my truth.”

FAQS | compass YOGA SOUND healing retreat

  • Our immersive yoga sound retreat suits all levels of experience. But it is definitely more than a relaxing weekend getaway.

Compass Retreat is a curated deep dive into personal and reflective experiences. You will notice and move through your 'stuff.'

We welcome curious people who are interested in showing up for reverent and sacred work, those who feel ready to explore life more profoundly, and are seeking supportive practices and guides.

There will be opportunities for individual support throughout the weekend. Both Bec and Nat are experienced at sharing with people at various levels.

We’re a friendly and encouraging community for wherever you are on your journey. So if you are a regular practitioner, there’s plenty here to challenge you too.

All participants will complete an intake form so we can modify practices and offer options to meet everyone’s needs.

  • This is a retreat for transformation. The program is curated to shift your state of being. We go on a big journey and embed spaciousness to encourage integration as things stir.

Our retreat style creates a supportive and brave space to reflect and explore as you access a range of yoga tools in your own way.

We encourage participants to lean into discomfort or the unfamiliar.

But everything is an invitation, never an obligation. Deep listening to what you need in the moment is a big part of the learning process.

Practices are offered with modifications to suit all.

There are multiple sound bath meditations across the weekend, so you can lie down, relax and allow things to settle.

Our program sequence covers a lot but the immersive experience makes it all accessible and beneficial.

There are short gaps and also dedicated free time on Saturday afternoon to take a Turkish steam bath, nap or read.

We continue to nurture your deepening connection as you head back to the world, so that the seeds planted at this retreat can continue to grow.

The ticket price includes a group Sunday Soothe in Castlemaine about a month after the retreat, plus a discount on 1:1 reiki or sound healing.

  • No. The retreat is designed as a full weekend program with a flow of activities and sequence of sessions that facilitate deep work in a supportive context.

There is also a sacred nature to the journey that requires commitment to yourself for three days. We also build trust and energy as community when we gather in a cohesive group from Friday to Sunday, and that container is part of the Compass magic.

The nearest train station is Woodend, and there are bus transfers to Daylesford (check the V-Line timetable).

  • We will send out specific information one week prior to the retreat.

Generally, pack clothes in which you can move comfortably. Layers are good as there will be moments of movement and stillness. Central Vic can be varied in autumn, so bring some warm things.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, sunhat and a rain jacket as we will journey out into nature. Pack your bathers and/or sarong for the hammam steam bath ritual.

Add anything you’d normally take on a weekend away but be aware that phone and digital technology use will be kept to a minimum to facilitate a full retreat experience. Reception is patchy, anyway. Go analogue and bring a journal and pens.

Also, come with an open mind, a commitment to be present in the experience however it rolls, and ponder an intention for your personal retreat.

  • We’d love to hear them. It helps us to let everyone feel comfortable. Flick us an email at Bec <awaken_yogaandreiki@outlook.com> or <natalie@wanderintowildness.com.au>. Our phone numbers are listed above if you’d like a conversation before you commit to the retreat.
